Good Morning, 3./JG 51!
I recently got back in touch with an old friend who flies with you gents, and realized how much I've missed the cameraderie of flying with a squadron. I was known as Baldur at 2./JG 1, and often flew Hackl's wing in IL2-FB. I was, I admit, not a stellar pilot, but I was competent, and am looking forward to getting up to speed in CLoD. To that end, I've applied to join 3./JG 51.
I look forward to hunting with you gentlemen!
Best regards to you all, Baldur

Hey Baldur, glad to hear you're looking to start flying again. CLOD is a different beast from the old IL-2. Plenty of that experience will transition over, but enough is new and/or much more difficult. In the fun sort of way though. Be prepared to work through the training process. We'll talk more when we can meet on TS and go through the whole orientation. Let me know what time(s) will work for you this week and we can set a meeting time.

Thanks, Gents! Stecher, I've replied to your email, and sent an invitation on Hangouts, so let me know when you'd like to hook up on TS and we'll make that happen. One of the things I miss about flying is the training. A good program does a lot to focus the mind on improving one's skills. 2./JG 1 had a good program, and I benefited a lot from it. I'm sure the same will be true of 3./JG 51! Best regards to all! Baldur

The next open night for me would be Monday, let's aim for 9:30pm ET if that works for you. I will PM you the TS info.

It turns out that I won't have to miss Wednesday after all, but what I have to do got pushed to Thursday or even Friday. So I'll be on Wednesday for our normal night (probably just free fighting on ATAG), but on Thursday Baldur I can't take you through the first training flights. Friday is likely not open either, so I'm thinking Saturday is my next chance to start you on the procedures and eventual test requirements and drills. How is Saturday night for you?

Stecher, Saturday works, as long as it doesn't go late; it's one of those nights the wife counts on for "us" time. What time did you have in mind? Baldur

Depends on how late is too late for you. I would like to plan for about 2 hours, mostly flying. So go back about 2 hours from when your time will be up and I should be able to make that.

Boss, I hope I didn't come off as a wuss...! What timezone are you in? Is 19:00 Eastern Daylight too early for you? An hour either direction works well for me. How about you? What's good for you? I'm in California. But now it looks like I will be free tonight (Thursday) after all, probably busy Saturday, and will have to be gone on Sunday. If it's not too short notice at this point, I'd prefer to meet and fly tonight, 9:30pm ET. If not, let's try for Friday, same time. Sorry for the schedule weirdness.

Ok, tonight works, Stecher; see you on TS. And no problem about the "weirdness"; we all have real lives to deal with. Baldur
