If anybody knows about headsets and audio, or has a good link for me to follow, I would really appreciate it! I have been googling and searching for answers for a week or so now, and have not found a solution.
I have always flown with you guys using desktop speakers for game sound and a single ear headset/mic for teamspeak comms. That is still an option and I will continue to do that if I need to.
I recently bought a gaming headset, (Logitech G230 stereo headset) mainly for comms, to keep my speaker game sounds from being picked up by the mic. Having the game sounds on the headset unexpectedly introduced a whole new level of immersion. Man it sounds so much better than the speakers! I can't even describe the difference. Trust me it's really good.
The problem is that my game sounds are now being transmitted through teamspeak, even when the mic is turned off! I have no idea how this is happening. I've checked and double checked every windows setting and every teamspeak setting that I can find, and it makes no sense to me how the game audio is being transmitted. The headset is set up as a playback device. The mic is set up as a recording device. There is no physical connection. It's driving me crazy.
Thanks for any help, and no worries if you don't know.

I don't know if you've used it on TS since last Thursday, but muting the stereo mix on the mic worked, correct?

Not sure. I did fire the cannons, and nobody mentioned hearing them, so I assume you guys didn't hear them. The New problem is that I could not hear y'all over the game sound. I did adjust the sliders in the windows volume control for lower game volume, and higher Teamspeak volume, but it didn't seem to make a difference. At that point I shifted back to my old headset which put me a little behind in taking off with y'all.
Not done experimenting with it yet, but haven't had time, and really don't want to experiment during staffel flying time.

I'll try to get on a little early tomorrow, we can mess with it. If you have the stereo mix fixed, we should be able to get things volume balanced without too much trouble.

Segler, I believe you want to adjust the volume sliders in game, not in the windows volume control.

Thanks again guys. Got both volumes adjusted pretty good now. Comfortable with both game sounds and TS comms.
