I posted this (see below) in our general discussion forum a long time ago, but it is still valid. It is a good guide (IMO) that will keep you out of trouble. It was written awhile ago but I will look it over and can let you know what has changed on TS when I see you. As for Spits they are the one of the easiest opponents to avoid/survive against provided you see them. In a 1 vs.1 fight in a 190A you will lose unless the Spitfire pilot is poor. You need to use teamwork and hit and run tactics, but these prove very effective. Anyway, here is link: jg51.proboards29.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=1084424077Start reading from the 5th post after "updated." Hope this helps.

I'm sure it says it in "Hunde's book" many times. The most important thing to remember with the 190 is it needs to be fast, it can't turn and you need to be patient. Practice flying to where your target is going to be rather than chasing after him.
I get kind of lazy when we strike in full force because I know there is always someone to clear my tail. However, if I'm alone I maintain a hard deck of 3000m at 400 kph. Meaning I will never be below this altitude slower than 400 kph. I'm usually faster and higher, but this is when I disengage and gain some seperation. I try to maintain at least a 3km seperation before I attempt to turn around. This way even if they are flying at you it gives you enough time to bring your guns to bear.
90% of the time I get shot down its the guy I didn't see that bounced me while I was engaged with someone else.

Just found this article over at air warfare. It mostly applies to F-86's in Korea. The F-86 could out-dive, out roll and had better high speed manuevering than the Mig-15. The Mig-15 could out turn and out climb the F-86. (sound familiar?)
