This might change your mind. forum.lockon.ru/showthread.php?t=19832If nothing else its very entertaining and shows where flight sims are headed. I just wish those rotor sound effects were shipping with the game.

Yeah I know World War II squadron, Fw-190s are awesome and all, but helicopters are just fricken cool. Every component in complete chaos working against each other in pursuit of a common goal. Glowing Amram's second Black Shark movie, has some pretty good armor scenes too.

That looks great! I haven't flown a chopper in a sim since Comanche Gold! Well, I guess I did try one shortly in FS9 but that only ended in disaster.
I haven't played Lock On in at least 2 years though because 1: There are just not very many online players. 2: I get too confused going back and forth between IL2.
I had a lot of fun when I was really into it though. You have got to love the way that F-15 flies. What a beauty!

Yeah I think the last helo sim I flew was Gunship 2000, back in 1998. Been waiting for Blackshark since it was announced.
Funny thing the other night I was flying on a 1946 server and someone shot an X4 at me. I instinctively notched the missile and tried to evade it like I do in lockon.
I never could get a handle on BVR tactics, but I fire up lockon every once in a while to take the Su-25T out for a spin.

A complete new series from eagle dynamics was announced this week, starting with black shark. The goal is to add a new high fidelity flyable every 9-12 months. Next in the pipe is the A-10A and AH-64A. This won't be a press 'I' to start the engine and go type sim. APU, electrical system, fuel system the turbine is even being thermodynamically modeled (inlet, compressor, combustion chamber, turbine and transmission) to calculate the shaft horsepower. Same way we do it in aero engineering for a preliminary analysis. Black SharkAmount of detail they are putting into this will put Falcon to shame.
