I just singed up here and just wanted to say "hi". I have loved German aircraft from WW2 since I was a boy and when I was invited to check this place out from the Il2 squadron forums I quickly came right over here to see what this was all about. I am very pleased with everything that I see here. Hope to talk to you all soon.

Hi choctaw, glad you like the site. As Beckh said things are a bit slow as members spend time with their families, technical difficulties, etc. Also, most of the more recent news, discussions, updates etc. are in the "staffel" sections of threads but you need a password for that. This is where we discuss upcoming matches, strategies for the next COT session, etc.
Anyway, if you fly with us I think you will find we are a good group of guys. Hope to see you soon.
Happy New Year.

Well, it looks like after all this time, I am back here looking at this squadron once again. For whatever reason, I am not able to start a new thread here so I figured I would just do a quick reply to this one that I started so long ago (I hope that someone sees this). I have downloaded all of the training missions and documents from this website and looked them over. I have to say that it would have been a lot easier for the land navigation course to include the grids for the villages : ) Doing the preflight map check and looking for those villages without grids took a little bit of time I am always anxious about learning new things, so I read up on the manuals about the 190 and the 109. These are aircraft that I have flown often, but never really mastered, and when I say mastered, I mean learning EVERY quirk and each little detail about them. Anyway, I hope to get this forum issue resolved soon so that I might start posting in here. I am looking forward to "stretching my legs" in these birds and see how well I stack up during the training phase.

I'll answer your Ubi PM questions in here too, just to keep it together.
No we don't fly against AI. For all the reasons you said, we share that feeling. This is a people experience. Yes, there is a training program done on an individual basis. We don't have a one size fits all program that I force everyone through, because people come to us in various stages of skill and experience. We have a clearance test, which everyone must pass to fly in operational missions with us. This is the same for everyone, and establishes the minimum requirements. The program which gets you up to this level is tailored specifically to you and what you need to work on to get there.
The training page is in need of revision. I'll note the grids in the updated version. Thanks.
Let me know if there's anything else I can clear up.

If the administrator could please look into my account. For some reason I cannot start a new thread, and I cannot find a way to edit my profile either. Some info has changed and I just wanted to update it.
Edit...Ok. I seem to have gotten the Thread problem worked out...but, I still do not seem be able to edit my profile. What am I missing?

I had much fun as well. I am looking forward to getting up there again (as more of a permanent fixture around here ) with you fellows and mixing it up with our adversaries. As far as saving your bacon is concerned...are you the one who was being chased by the Lightning? After I made that pass on it, I knew I had hit him pretty good, but I was still surprised he had lost control and went into that crazy spin and couldn't recover from that altitude.

yep you kicked some serious butt and cleared my six in the process:) There's not much more than I can say other than that Lightning made me mad, seeing him shooting at you and all. Nobody messes around with the squad...not in front of me I have a new home here, and I like it very much
