What's up guys. Long time no fly for me. I hope you guys are doing good. I went to an Airshow this past weekend, thought of you guys and brought some pics back. Here is a link to the photobucket album. s185.photobucket.com/albums/x73/alvintruell/Airshow%2008/Looking at the pics now, I should have taken the camera from my fiance' and took some pictures myself, but I was just amazed and awed. After reading about them and seeing pictures and films for years I never thought that I would actually be able to get that close to those planes. I'm the fat guy with the kangol, the girl is my fiance' Amanda, the little boy is my nephew Christian.

It was the MCAS at Cherry Point airbase in North Carolina. It's billed as the biggest one in NC but I dunno about that part. There was a lot of more modern stuff there too but being a history major it was the older planes that made me drool.
My first time seeing the Blue Angels perform, that made the travel and the unbelievable heat more bearable. I noticed that somehow I missed the PBY Catalina when I posted these pics. I need to check and see if I got any pictures of it at all. I was so self absorbed that I forgot to take pictures. 95% of the ones I have were taken by my fiance'. If I had thought about it I would have taken some close up shots.
You might notice that all the WWII planes had tarps over their canopies except for the Yak. I was standing on my toes to get a look at the cockpit, should have just taken some pictures now that I think about it.
