Hi everyone (Attn: Stachl), During the past couple weeks we have been experiencing problems with Comcast and their e-mail blacklist, due to spam coming from any of the 592 domains that share JG51.com's IP address. Understandably, Lunarpages is not willing to move our account to a different server (they will for other problems/requests, but not because of a blacklist). Even if they did, the same situation could happen again. Paying a little extra for a "dedicated IP" would also not help in this case. Lunarpages basically said that Comcast is uncooperative, so they have no way of knowing which domains are responsible for blocking the shared IP. I have submitted a couple reports to Comcast explaining the situation, but the result so far is that the IP is only removed from the blacklist for 2-3 days, until more spam ends up alerting whatever adds the IP again. Therefore, the jg51.com e-mail forwarder for Stachl (as long as it is linked to a comcast.net address) is not currently working -- or it is intermittent at best, until this issue is somehow resolved. Unfortunately we can't afford the best solution to this situation: upgrading to a $40/mo VPS account. To Stachl: If you have an alternate e-mail address that we can use instead of your Comcast address, please send it to Stecher and he will update the e-mail forwarder settings. We are able to create regular POP3/IMAP e-mail accounts which would use a small portion of our disk space, however doing so (for anyone not in charge of the hosting account) is probably against Lunarpages' policies.
