That should be interesting to try. I'll bet the change is pretty small. Things like this are usually exaggerated in one's own head.
Has everyone ordered this yet? Anyone waiting for the boonty downloads? Cheaper I suppose, but no SoW:BoB preview DVD.

Not another add-on that doesn't address the bigger issues...geez...if its $70 here again I ain't buying it until it hits the bargin bin. On a similar note, do we need this add-on to continue online ?

We will I think after this current FS phaze is finished.
I pre-ordered mine a few weeks ago and got an email that it has shipped. It will be worth it just so I don't have to go through all the patching BS during a new install.

At least this time, Molders, there are 36 planes (32 flyable), 4 maps, and almost 1,000 skins. This will be much more of a true add-on than Pe-2 was with 3 planes (variants), no maps, no skins... Whether or not you're interested in the sizable additions is another thing. For compatibility reasons, this will be required as it bumps us from 4.05m to 4.07m. Exactly when it is needed, I'm not sure. I don't know how they want to handle the rest of Normandy Phase I, but we'll find out soon. If price is an issue, I heard that the Boonty Box downloads of 4.06m and 4.07m will be cheaper than buying the DVD set. Anyone seen a price or release date for these?
Even if you get it, make sure that you are still capable of using it at the 4.05m level until we know how FS wants to do the change over. Don't patch yourself out of the war.

Hopefully we won't have to buy it off the UK website again but it does sound a lot better than the Pe2 add-on, atleast the Luftwaffe will get something this time. Now what about this bump from 4.05 to 4.07...what happened to 4.06

They combined two add-ons. Sturmoviks over Manchuria (4.06m) and VVS '46 (4.07m). The DVD set has one disk for the add-ons, and one disk with BoB preview stuff. The Boonty Box download(s), without the BoB preview, would probably be bought from the UK store again. I don't think there was an official North American release of 4.06m/4.07m.

Well the Ta-152C is worth the extra money for me. However, this aircraft has always made me giggle like a school girl and think questionable thoughts. So it may not hold the same weight for everyone else.
Plus there's a lot of BOB material included that we haven't seen before.
Is the addon available to North America yet? I saw gogamer.com was carrying it but I don't know if they started shipping.

Yes, they've been shipping since the 18th. NWS said they'll ship by the 22nd.

Got mine yesterday. ;D The handling difference is noticable if you're looking for it, barely. It just feels like the input filtering got turned up a bit. Not a big deal at all, exept things may seems a little more stable when firing because of the dampened wobble. The new jet stuff is fun to mess around with. The Lerche is totally wacko, and I think impossible to land on target, certainly with full switch going. A Gold Medal to the first guy who can do it. The Arado bomber has RATO it seems. I was stunned at its takeoff acceleration until I noticed that. Rear firing twin 20s I believe, with a parascope to look backwards, kinda cool. The most fun I've had though is trying to vulch myself with the X-4s. Spawn on the tarmac with a 183, lanch the missle and circle it back on yourself, LOL. ;D Oh and the 152C, holy crap. A 190 on roids, gotta love that. The BoB preview pics are great. There's one with a Spit over the countryside, beautiful. The detail of the ground objects is amazing when you remind yourself it is for a flight sim, then compare it to what we have now. The trucks, tanks, AA guns, just amazing. Quality fitting of a recent FPS.

I heard the 190s should retain E a little better. Have you noticed if that's true? Any word on when we will switch in FS? I wouldn't mind an improved 190 I haven't installed mine yet... Did you simply make double installs? I am dying to try it.

I haven't flown the regular stuff enough in 4.07 to notice that. There isn't a date set yet for an FS switch over, but I'd guess some time in the first half of January.
The installer defaults the location to a different folder, called Ubisoft, instead of Ubi Soft. So it installs everything all the way up to 4.07m completely brand new. Then go into your old FB folder and copy over things that you don't want to leave behind. Copy over the conf file, and the Missions and Users folders as a minimum. And if you have and want them, don't forget to grab any skins from the PaintSchemes folder, tracks from the records folder, or QMB missions from the Quicks folder.

I just watched the video. I don't know if I am more impressed by BoB or by those aerobatics guys?
Do those guys EVER get shot down online? d**n!

Hey guys, I have been spending some time with the Mustang today. (In 4.07)
I don't know if it is all in my head, but it seems to be improved. I shot down three German fighters in it in about 10 minutes. It seemed to turn with the 109 better than before. The 50s also seem to work better with the more stable platform. I would really fear the extra 50s in the P47.
Like I said, who knows how much of it is in my head? It was fun though. If I am flying allied, it would now be a top pick for me.

Are you guys aware of any other places that ship Il2 4.07 to Canada ? With the one previously posted on here, I got to pay somewhere around $20 to get basic insurance on the package from Florida and on + possible duty charges already on top of $60 bringing the total close to $80-90 which is way to much. Any help would be appreciated.

I don't know if you're following that thread Molders, but it seems that some Canadian Walmart and EB Games stores have them. Check around.
