I hereby debunk the global warming theory and declare a new vacation destination, bring yer swim trunks ;D....... I worked the flight line in -22f today. Anything that could go wrong.... did,due mainly just to cold temps. Apply some heat (from Herman Nelsons) and wal-la, it's fixed --mostly indication issues. www.adn.com/front/story/644835.html

Everything hydraulic tends to start leaking the cold it gets. Those O-rings turn so brittle.

Freezing rain last night and the winds are supposed to pick up. There is a huge low moving in from the south- sometimes known here as a "Pineapple Express or Chinook" Everything is glazed with ice and really slick. Schools are canceled. I spent nearly an hour in freezing rain, deicing one of our aircraft encased in ice. They really should not be flying today. Many people called in sick because they can't drive to work without great risk. forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?zoneid=AKZ101and a blurp from the local paper www.adn.com/news/education/story/653466.htmlIt's gonna be a fun one.....
