www.bm357.comTake a minute to register with our friendly rivals please. Until work can get restarted on the planned online war, let's try to keep up communication and flying events with these good bunch of guys. And kill as many of them as you can to show how much you like them. ;D

Ah, looking through more now, it was very very slow before. Still kinda slow for me but better. On page 13 there is a city texture, also tiling.

Cool! It looks like an aerial photo, but it has been photoshopped. The edges line up for tiling. I hope they put trees and buildings in 3D that match the photo. That is definitely new water animation too. Even better than PF. ;D

Moving, dynamic pockets of air! The detail going into this is better than I thought. And I thought it was a lot. I really want to SEE some of this new terrain, hopefully soon. Next gen 162s as well should be nice aircraft. I am not optimistic on how much online flying this "46" addon will get though. Should provide some goofing off fun though.

Before you sign in to the FB room, just change your name and password. Then you'll need to confirm it with an email address. Some guys have said that it had to be a different email address than you've confirmed with before, but I'm pretty sure that I have used the same one. Maybe Jiri changed it or something. Anyway, just try different name and password with same email to start. Remember, 3./JG51_Shrike.

It arrived yesterday with both CD/DVD drives knocked loose and in. Called Sturtz on the phone and he talked me through how to open it all up and refix them. Stupid UPS, he said another guy just last week with almost exact same rig had his CPU and heatsink popped off by UPS when it got there. He put extra bubble wrap stuffed in my case, probably prevented a catastrophe. He won't be using them to ship anymore. Anyway, I spend all night getting things set up, all the software programs, configuration, drivers and stuff. Haven't transfered my old files yet, but I fixed it up so that I can fly. I got a couple hours of sleep in the morning and have been flying all day! It works great. ;D

If you've been there, then you obviously know that it's had a face lift. Many of the hosted image's file paths have changed though. I know some of you are using the site's webspace for avatars or images. If this is you, make sure you contact me to get the new file path for whatever image you want to use.
I hope you like the new look. The actual Falcon Skies addition should be not too far away.

It's cool to see them all pieced together. It also makes you realize just how big the eastern front was. Look at all the maps we do have, and there's still so much space uncovered by them.

Yeah, I was looking at that. Are you going to make it a bmp or jpg, or leave it as tga? I made the Italy war map background by taking 2 screenshots in FMB, cropping out the FMB border on each, and then overlapping them to make the full map as one file.

Very nice job on the Italy map. When the file gets finalized for download, I definitely recommend downloading and printing it. Great job Specter, thanks.
Question. The last number, most of them 20, that is airfield altitude in meters?

Yeah, absolutely. Whenever we're in a campaign, it's good to become familiar with your typical home base, but there are times when you have to make an emergency landing at an unfamiliar field. It's times like that, when you're running on fumes or your engine is dying, that you can't spend another couple minutes circling around because you lined up wrong initially. This would come in handy. Thanks Specter.

Sunday is pretty much full for me. I have more writing to do, then we've got the mission in the evening, which I have to do the plan for also. How about Monday at 7:30pm ET?

We had an FS mission tonight. I've got an exam tomorrow early in the morning. Will you be available in the afternoon?

I don't know if you're following that thread Molders, but it seems that some Canadian Walmart and EB Games stores have them. Check around.

I haven't flown the regular stuff enough in 4.07 to notice that. There isn't a date set yet for an FS switch over, but I'd guess some time in the first half of January.
The installer defaults the location to a different folder, called Ubisoft, instead of Ubi Soft. So it installs everything all the way up to 4.07m completely brand new. Then go into your old FB folder and copy over things that you don't want to leave behind. Copy over the conf file, and the Missions and Users folders as a minimum. And if you have and want them, don't forget to grab any skins from the PaintSchemes folder, tracks from the records folder, or QMB missions from the Quicks folder.

Got mine yesterday. ;D The handling difference is noticable if you're looking for it, barely. It just feels like the input filtering got turned up a bit. Not a big deal at all, exept things may seems a little more stable when firing because of the dampened wobble. The new jet stuff is fun to mess around with. The Lerche is totally wacko, and I think impossible to land on target, certainly with full switch going. A Gold Medal to the first guy who can do it. The Arado bomber has RATO it seems. I was stunned at its takeoff acceleration until I noticed that. Rear firing twin 20s I believe, with a parascope to look backwards, kinda cool. The most fun I've had though is trying to vulch myself with the X-4s. Spawn on the tarmac with a 183, lanch the missle and circle it back on yourself, LOL. ;D Oh and the 152C, holy crap. A 190 on roids, gotta love that. The BoB preview pics are great. There's one with a Spit over the countryside, beautiful. The detail of the ground objects is amazing when you remind yourself it is for a flight sim, then compare it to what we have now. The trucks, tanks, AA guns, just amazing. Quality fitting of a recent FPS.
