Hmm, well I was following his, but then it didn't do some stuff that he said to watch for. It looks like it worked though, version on loading screen says 4.05m and it says PE-2 Peshka under Aces, and Pe-2 is in QMB flyable list. It looks like they want us, after everything is installed and working, to take the copied original il2.exe and il2fb.exe and put them back in the folder replacing the BoontyBox altered ones. And then manually uninstall BoontyBox. Weird.

If you haven't done it yet, Luthier has a detailed step by step installation walk through.

It looks like there are quite a number of installation problems. Apparently it doesn't let you pick the directory at first. I haven't done it yet, and won't have the time for the whole process until tomorrow, but if you do this, check out the posts in the UBI GD stickies up top if you have problems.

Grizzly, I updated your address to match the alias. Is your MSN passport still the same address as before, or did you change that too?
I'll be on Ventrilo this Thursday. No flying yet, but new computer almost there.

Yeah, Hitcher it seems the balance is reversed. I've gone and applied us. I'm looking forward to Italy 43, I just hope we can bring some pilots.

It's good to see that they are now using Dogfight mission types as well. I took a quick look at the site, but then in went down for maintenance. I'll have to do some more reading up on it before I decide, but if they're going to move to the WF ETO, I'd say our chances are good. How much we'll be able to participate depends on three main factors. One, the new year attendance of our roster. Two, how well the squad responds to a new training program. And three, the direction COT takes with their next campaign, as that is our primary dedication. I was looking for a way to give our new guys a way to get COT-like experience without actually having it be COT, because it can be harsh. FS, if I understand correctly, has a 2 DiD system, which is perfect for this purpose. Thanks for the heads up Hitcher.

Okay, well everything's here now, but I've realized that the PSU outlet is on the bottom of the Antec, whereas my Dell's PSU is on the top. So I need to cut out space on the back sheet metal. There's a first time for everything, hehe.

Yeah, my Dell Dimension 8250 comes with a weak 250W PSU, so I also have a new Antec 330 PSU with highly upgraded Amp levels. The PSU came yesterday and the 9800 came today. I'm hoping my additional RAM shows up tomorrow so I can put it all in and get in the air again.

After going through a lot of crap it's pretty much been determined that it is my video card, not the drivers or anything else that is responsible for me not being able to fly or even use my computer some times. I think it's been fried for lack of a better term. I've got a post up in UBI support forum with a little video clip if anyone's curious. Anyway, a new video card better be what I need because I just bought a 9800. I was going to just replace my 9700 with another one and wait for BoB before going for a major upgrade, but I found a real good deal on ebay with less than an hour left on it. I should be up and flying again by next week (fingers crossed). After it gets here can one of you guys help me with installing it? I have never done any hands on work with a computer's guts before. Thanks guys.

Geez, another one? I'm sending Sturtz my 9800 to put in the new machine. If it tests out okay then I'll use it, but might need an additional case fan near by. It seemed to be running really hot when I tested it in this computer. If anything happens to it I'll go nVidia too. Hunde, when you had those problems did they go away with another card, or was it something else too like mine?

3:30pm PT should work for me that day.
Heiden, the game will be closed to just he and I, but you could listen on comms if Kessler is okay with it.

Kessler, I forgot, next Monday we have a dogfight match. We'll either have to schedule your test for an earlier or later time, or another day. Sorry about that.

Yeah, thanks Taco. We are, as you say, strictly flying the Fuhrers Technology still. ;D And Forgotten Skies has been a full time commitment. Along with our squad training, we have 4 nights a week taken up as is, so we just couldn't get into anything else on a weekly schedule. But thanks for thinking of us. It's good to see another successful organization of squads. Good luck with the USL.

I think they are just after squads to participate in their league. No harm in that. It's a cut and paste message, but I remember the WingWalkers from the days of COT. Maybe they remembered us. It looks like this is going to be flown with closed pit, but that alone is a far stretch to full switch. I would venture to guess that the settings for the season, when determined, will be short of that. And it also looks to be a flip flop double event. You fly Axis and then Allied. So those things basically take us out of it. Besides we are so busy with FS as it is, I don't think we'd have any time for something like this, even if the set up was right down our alley.

I think it would be best to keep it with German a/c only. It's more useful that everyone practice with their familiar plane and develop along its strengths, rather than adjust to an enemy plane flown improperly by a pilot that is not used to it. Focus on our strengths, not their abnormal weaknesses. The schedule should simply be as often as you can make it.

Go for it. It should help with turnout and training. Molders, if you want to compile a schedule of fights, that would be good. I am still trying to fix my computer back to flying status, it seems to be boycotting FB.
